There are two kinds of people in the world – those who like Kevin Costner, and those who don’t. I fall into the category of ‘those who don’t’, mostly because… actually, to tell you the truth, I’m not really sure why, there’s just something about the guy that drives me bonkers. I think it’s his voice…
But if you are one who does like Costner, then this should strike your fancy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Costner just signed up to star in the supernatural thriller NEW DAUGHTER for the Gold Circle production company. So what, praytell, is NEW DAUGHTER all about? Check it:
Costner will play John James, a single father who moves to a farm with his two kids after a painful divorce. Soon, his daughter starts behaving ominously, and Dad begins to suspect that the burial mound in a nearby field might have something to do with it.
Burial mounds… I tell you what, if you ever find out that a burial mound is in your neighborhood, you should just move. There’s never a story about how a family has flourished with a burial mound, it’s always death, destruction, and chaos… but that’s cool, as it does make for some entertaining flicks.
Directed by Spanish director Luiso Berdejo and written by John Travis (from a John Connolly short story), NEW DAUGHTER also stars Ivana Baquero (the chick from PAN’S LABYRINTH).
So while I don’t care for Costner, I am curious to see Baquero sink her teeth into something new… maybe she is the next big thing, no? Filming is expected to begin early next year, so keep it here for all your NEW DAUGHTER info as we hear it! Now, the big question is… are you a person who likes Kevin Costner, or a person who doesn’t?
I dislike Costner so much that I didn’t even include a picture of his mug to go with this story. Instead, I chose something totally unrelated, like this one.
