The last update we got on the upcoming FRIGHT NIGHT remake came a few days ago, when we received the jaw-dropping news that Colin Farrell would be starring in the film as ‘Jerry Dandrige.’ Well folks, it seems the hits just keep on coming!
Unfortunately I’m not talking about another casting shocker. No, today I’m talking about FRIGHT NIGHT going the route of 3D! That’s right ladies and gents! Buried within an article over at Variety about the production design on sappy chick flick LETTERS TO JULIET was the following sentence:
Agency has also booked producers Tony Mark on Javier Colinas’ “Ghost in the Ring,” Rob Ortiz as UPM on Craig Gillespie’s “Fright Night 3D,”..
Seriously? That’s it? That’s how they announce that a remake of this caliber will be in 3D? To be fair who didn’t see this one coming? To be honest, it’s hard to think of a recently announced horror flick that isn’t going to be in 3D so we can’t really say this is much of a surprise. But will it pay off? That’s the big question. Is this just a part of the 3D gimmick to make a quick buck or is it actually going to make this remake more enjoyable? Unfortunately only time will tell.
The film, coming from director Craig Gillespie, also stars Toni Collette (below) and Anton Yelchin along with Farrell. Quite the cast we’ve got here isn’t it? Folks that actually know how to act… Can’t say I was expecting that one. But dare I say that actually gives hope to this remake? Still no word on any sort of start date for FRIGHT NIGHT but as always we’ll keep you updated!
