Sundance hit THE EAST is hitting theaters this summer following a bevy of good reviews and buzz (check out ours HERE). We gave you a look at the unnerving teaser trailer back in January, and now comes the weird one-sheet, which you can peep below. Am still not entirely sure if this movie is meant to be covered on our site, but I love what they’re showing from it so far, so we’re sticking with it.

The synopsis:

Sarah Moss (Marling) is a brilliant operative for an elite private intelligence firm whose top objective is to ruthlessly protect the interests of their A-list corporate clientele. She is assigned to go undercover to infiltrate an anarchist collective known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations. Living amongst them in an effort to get closer to their members, Sarah finds herself unexpectedly torn between two worlds as she starts to fall in love with the group’s charismatic leader, finding her life and her priorities irrevocably changed.

Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij wrote the film, while the latter directed. In addition to Marling, it stars “True Blood” vamp Alexander Skarsgård, Ellen Page, Julia Ormond, Shiloh Fernandez and Patricia Clarkson.

THE EAST opens on May 31st; check out the official site right HERE.
