Cruel quiet axe

So are we to assume that silent genre films are now becoming the new rage? First we had the film SILENT, which I just reviewed here. Now, there’s the film CRUEL, which I last wrote about here. I’m in no way against this possibly new, quiet film movement. Especially when the plots (like CRUEL’s) sound so juicy!

I am also a big fan of the flick’s new teaser poster, which you can see up top. That is one bad-ass mutha-f*cking murder weapon right there! And the fact that it’s black and white (as is the movie itself) just adds a nice dark and dingy feeling. You also can’t beat that tagline: Terror needs not make a sound. If all this still isn’t enough to twinge your interest, just check out CRUEL’s plot:

An axe murderer dispatches the people responsible for wrongs done to a young, mute stricken girl – each murder done in front of the girl as a form of shock therapy for her condition. At the same time, the young girl’s father races to find her.

CRUEL was written and directed by Duane P.Craig. It stars Donald Meyers, Jon W. Sparks, and Arnita Williams, and is still set to release on DVD some time in 2008.
