Cube trailer teases a Japanese remake of the cult classic

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While there have been many talks of remaking the cult 1997 indie sci-fi horror film Cube for a while now, it seems Japan has up and done one themselves. The original director, Vincenzo Natali, is even executive producing it. You can see the trailer for the film yourself at the top of the article, and below is the (familiar) official synopsis:

A mysterious cube. 6 men and women are suddenly trapped in Cube. It’s unclear where this is, why they are trapped, whether there is an exit, whether they can survive, or what the room even is.

The Japanese Cube remake – directed by Yasuhiko Shimizu – will be released in Japan October 22nd, though no official North American release as of yet. But we'll keep you updated.

So, what do you guys think? Fans of the original? If so, looking forward to the remake at all? Either way, sound off below!
