Cusack in The Factory

Say what you will about THIRTEEN GHOSTS, but for the most part, I really dig on the movies Joel Silver and his Dark Castle Entertainment have released over the years. Sure, GHOSTS sucked balls, but HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL was a blast, and yes… even HOUSE OF WAX rocked harder than it probably should have. Which makes the announcement of their next project so much more exciiting.

The new flick’s called THE FACTORY, and it has two things going for it: it’s set to star John Cusack, and it’s not a remake of a classic horror flick from the 50s or 60s, but an original (I know, hard to believe) flick from ‘Project Greenlight’ winner Morgan O’Neill. Nice! So what’s THE FACTORY all about? Check it:

Cusack will play an obsessed cop who, with his partner, is on the trail of a serial killer prowling the streets of Buffalo, N.Y. When his teenage daughter disappears, the cop drops any professional restraint and goes all out to get the killer.

It’s like a SEVEN meets DEATH SENTENCE, or some other similar styled revenge flick. Very f*cking cool, and a bit of a change of pace for both Cusack and Dark Castle.

Filming is set to begin in Janaury with O’Neill in the director’s seat… this would have me concerned, but it’s John f*cking Cusack, and the guy can’t make a bad movie. And even when he does, he’s still pretty good in it. Stick around for more on THE FACTORY as we hear it!
