Danny Elfman to perform The Nightmare Before Christmas at the Hollywood Bowl

Everyone’s favorite Halloween/Christmas movie, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, is getting the live treatment come this Halloween. While it’s not uncommon for a film to be accompanied by a live orchestra for special engagements, this particular screening will also feature the film’s main composer and voice, Danny Elfman, performing alongside said orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl.

The Bowl itself will be transformed into Halloween Town and include audience participation pre-show activities like a costume contest. Other guest singers will be joining Elfman on-stage, although no other names have been revealed. Tickets will go on sale this Friday for those interested.

I’ve never been particularly in love with NIGHTMARE, like a lot of people are, but it’s hard to deny the film’s charm and ease in which it encapsulates both Halloween and Christmas. I’m not sure there’s anyone who actually HASN’T seen the movie, but if they happen to live out in LA, this is as great an opportunity as ever. So what’s it going to be? Will you be joining Jack Skellington this Halloween?

Danny Elfman will perform THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS at 8:15 p.m. on October 31st.
