Director Valeri Milev has brought us a couple zombie movies (CODE RED, RE-KILL) and the sixth film in the WRONG TURN franchise, and now he's back with a new genre project that has me very intrigued because it's so off-the-wall.

Milev's latest film is called BULLETS OF JUSTICE, and it stars the legendary Danny Trejo. Originally developed as a pilot for a television series, it has the following plot synopsis:

During the Third World War, the American government initiates a secret project code named "Army Bacon" in order to create super soldier by inbreeding human being with pigs. 25 years later a breed called "Muzzles" have occupied top of the food chain, eating and farming humans like animals.

Rob Justice is an ex-bounty hunter working for the last line of human resistance – a group of survivors hiding in a nuclear bunker deep underground. His mission is to find out how muzzles came to power and destroy them.

A PLANET OF THE APES situation with pig people and a pistol-packing Danny Trejo is enough to sell me on this, but then I watched the trailer below and saw that the movie is even more nuts than that synopsis promises. Sporting an unexpectedly gritty visual style, this thing is packed with gunfire and explosions, it features a guy on with a jet pack, and one of the female leads has a mustache to rival Trejo's own.

So BULLETS OF JUSTICE definitely seems to be something to look forward to.
