David Ayer reveals Suicide Squad script scene between Joker & Enchantress

I never thought it would happen, but fans were able to successfully campaign for Zack Snyder to complete his vision for JUSTICE LEAGUE. Now that the SnyderCut will be coming to HBO Max sometime next year, there's another DCEU film which could receive a director's cut — David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD. Although the film was a commercial success upon its release, it didn't fare quite so well critically, but it's no secret that Ayer's original cut of the film went through the ringer, with many scenes ending up on the cutting room floor.

When asked about the possibility of an AyerCut of SUICIDE SQUAD earlier this year, David Ayer said that his version of the film "would be easy to complete," as well as being "incredibly cathartic for me. It’s exhausting getting your ass kicked for a film that got the Edward Scissorhands treatment. The film I made has never been seen." Since then, the director has been dropping small teases from his version of SUICIDE SQUAD, which included a page from the original script which features Joker (Jared Leto) working with Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) during the final act. Not only that, but Ayer also said that the scene was shot and edited before it was cut from the final film. Perhaps one day we'll get to see it.

Speaking of SUICIDE SQUAD, fans of the film have banded together to declare July 20th #ReleaseTheAyerCut Day. Whether Ayer's cut of SUICIDE SQUAD will ever see the light of day remains to be seen, but as I would have bet against the SnyderCut of JUSTICE LEAGUE, I should probably refrain from making any bold predictions. What about you, folks? Would you like to see the AyerCut of SUICIDE SQUAD?
