Day Shift trailer, poster tease Jamie Foxx’s Netflix vampire slayer movie

Day Shift, a vampire action movie starring Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home) is coming to the Netflix streaming service on August 12th, and with that date just one month away Netflix has unveiled a trailer and poster for the film. You can watch the trailer for Day Shift in the embed above, and check out the poster at the bottom of this article.

Day Shift marks the feature directorial debut of stunt coordinator and second unit director J.J. Perry. This is the first produced screenplay for Tyler Tice, whose script received some polishing from Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3Army of the Dead). The story centers on Foxx’s character,

a hard-working, blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter. His mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international union of vampire hunters.

Foxx is joined in the cast by Snoop Dogg (Bones), Scott Adkins (Accident Man), Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist), Meagan Good (Monster Hunter), Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder), Eric Lange (Narcos), Zion Broadnax (Holly Day), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society), Oliver Masucci (The Swarm), Steve Howey (Shameless), and C.S. Lee (Dexter).

John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski produced Day Shift with Jason Spitz for 87Eleven Entertainment, alongside Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick of Impossible Dream Entertainment. Foxx, Datari Turner, and Peter Baxter are executive producers.

Day Shift has been rated R for “strong violence and gore, and language“. Sounds like a good time to me, and I’m totally on board to watch a vampire slayer movie with this cast, from this creative team. This movie is going on my Netflix list for sure.
