Director Andrew Merkelbach sent us along some new pics from his upcoming alien/zombie hybrid DEADER COUNTRY, sequel to the upcoming DEAD COUNTRY, which hits DVD later this October. The flick appears to have quite a line-up of low-budget cheesy special effects… and a some bare boobies, which is always a plus.
Along with these new pics of the alien/zombie, we have a recently updated synopsis. Check it out: Whilst wagging school, two teenagers stumble across a strange hybrid creature, a beast that is half man, half alien and ALL zombie, which has managed to make its way unseen across desolate countryside to the town of Pleasance. Upon nursing the mutated zombie back to health, the teens unwittingly unleash a deadly new plague of the undead on the town’s populace. Now with a conscience and accompanied by a small group of eccentric locals, Orion is back to help battle the second legion of zombies. However, he is soon to discover a startling revelation that will alter the very fabric of his existence…
I’m reminded of the 80s classic C.H.U.D. 2: BUD THE C.H.U.D., which was a zany zom-com featuring a couple dude’s who unthaw a C.H.U.D., then keep him around as a pet, even though the C.H.U.D. is killing people, dogs, etc. The big difference? There was no bare boobies in that flick!
Enjoy the new pics (while definitely cheap, that alien/zombie is kinda creepy…must’ve stolen that flannel from another masked stalker I know) and get ready for DEADER COUNTRY sometime next year.
