Wade Wilson’s favorite power couple is returning for another film filled with bullets, motor-mouth banter, and breaking of the fourth wall! Prepare to squee because Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will return as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio, respectively, in Deadpool 3! Hildebrand features in Deadpool and Deadpool 2 as the teenage mutant able to generate nuclear explosions. Meanwhile, Kutsuna’s Yukio appears in Deadpool 2 as a Japanese mutant ninja and Negasonic’s adorable girlfriend. Shawn Levy directs the threequel with Ryan Reynolds returning as the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool.

Karan Soni plays Dopinder, Deadpool’s friend and cab driver, and Leslie Uggams plays Blind Al, Wade’s roommate. Morena Baccarin plays Deadpool’s fiancée Vanessa (who Deadpool resurrected in Deadpool 2). Stefan Kapicic plays the Russian wrecking Ball Colosus, and Rob Delaney returns as the human X-Force member Peter. Newcomers to the Deadpool franchise include Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine, with Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) entering the fold.

Plot details for Deadpool 3 remain a mystery, but with so many characters returning from previous films, it feels like we’re attending a reunion. The most exciting aspect of the sequel is the inclusion of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Jackman retired from playing the character after 2017’s Logan saw the Canadian mutant taking a dirt nap. However, Reynolds convinced Jackman to pop his claws again for Deadpool 3, surprising fans waiting for both characters to interact on the silver screen.

Speaking with ET Canada, Reynolds revealed how the heroes from the Great White North joined forces.

“It’s been fun,” Reynolds told the outlet. “He and I are both really excited. We’ve wanted to do this for a decade. So, to have this opportunity now is, I think actually weirdly, the perfect time.”

Regarding what it took for Jackman to pop his claws again for what I hope is a buddy action film of epic proportion, Reynolds said, “I mean, I never stopped. I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I actually just think… I believe in timing … and I think he was ready.”

Reynolds continued, “I think he was excited and what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”

Are you excited about Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna returning for Deadpool 3? Will Dafne Keen’s Laura (X-23) be added to the cast? I certainly hope so! My head would explode from excitement if that happened.
