It’s been a while since we’ve seen some really quality Asian horror around here. The American J-horror remakes all but killed my desire to see another long-haired ghost chick, and it seems as though the French have taken the mantle of making the most interesting international horror. Well, maybe DEATH BELL can change things back a little.
The horror flick, which was released in South Korea last summer, is heading to IFC’s OnDemand channel on October 14th. We’ve got the trailer and a new poster for you, so feel free to stare at this page for as long as you have to. Of course, there does seem to be a supernatural element to DEATH BELL (how could there not be at least ONE sullen ghost girl?) but for the most part it looks like it’s in the SAW mold.
DEATH BELL is about a maniac who holds twenty students hostage in a school, while torturing and killing those who answer his questions incorrectly. Deranged teacher? The Korean Jigsaw? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
