I guess they didn’t learn the first time around.
Let’s face it: DECOYS sucked. Not the fun stuff that THE FACULTY was, and not as sexy as SPECIES (at least in my opinion), the film came and went like a fart in the wind. Word of a sequel being developed surfaced a while back, but other than that (and the fact that Jeff Lando would be directing), nothing.
Fango reports today that the sequel, titled DECOYS: REBIRTH, begins filming in Edmonton, Alberta next week, and brings back Cory Sevier and Kim Poirier to reprise their roles as Luke Callahan and Constance from the first film. Dina Meyer (SAW) also stars.
This time around, after witnessing his best friends falling for the aliens disguised as hot-to-trot coeds, Luke is now a grad student on left with thoughts of whether the events from the first film actually happened (I know I wish they didn’t). At the same time, Sam and his buddies get into a contest to see who can knock boots with the most girls by semester’s end, and end up running into more coeds who wear more than what they appear to be. The ‘coeds’ will be made up of some Edmonton-area actresses, who can take a stab at being in the film through an upcoming campaign. Stay tuned for this contest and other info for this sequel.
