Alright my friends. Last year I told you about Shriekfest after the event had gone down and even shared a bit of chat I had with Festival President Denise Gossett. You can read that here.
Now I just got a press release that reads like this:
The 5th Annual Shriekfest, the Los Angeles International Horror/Thriller/Science Fiction/Fantasy Film Festival and Screenplay competition is currently accepting submissions for it’s 2005 festival to be held September 15-18 2005. The festival is dedicated to screening and recognizing the works of filmmakers & screenwriters in the horror/thriller/sci fi categories. Awards will be given in most categories and prizes include cash, product awards, trophies, etc.
Late entry deadline is June 25th.
Some categories include: Cinematography, Editing, Acting, Sound, and of course the best short, best feature, etc.
So that gives you ’til, um, tomorrow to get your entries in, but Denise is pretty cool so if you’re close to finishing your amazing genre project then contact her and see what you can work out.
Otherwise, just check out the official site and plan to take in the event for motivation to get something done for next year!
