What do you get when you take the director of HELLBOY and PAN’S LABYRINTH and combine him with the writings of one of the greatest authors of the macabre ever? You get director Guillermo del Toro’s next project, the adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s AT THE MOUNTAIN OF MADNESS!

According to Latino Review del Toro will be hitting up MADNESS after his work on HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY is complete. He’ll be working from a script in which he himself wrote, with Universal Pictures producing. Nice! When a director (especially del Toro) works from a script of their own writing, the results usually fall into the ‘awesome’ category!

For those who aren’t familiar, MADNESS features a chilling recollection of an Antarctic expedition’s uncanny discoveries–and their encounter with untold menace in the ruins of a lost civilization. Prepare for lots of scenic snow shots, and lot of weird shite to ensue.
