I’m sure you guys have heard the rumblings across this here internet about J.J. Abrams’ latest mystery, right? You see, I just finished watching the latest episode of “Lost,” where Abrams and company proceded to make me their b*tch, so to speak. And now I sit down at my desk to find Abrams has a lot more mystery coming our way…
Apparently it’s been announced that a trailer for Abrams’ secret project SUPER-8 would be hitting us this weekend in front of IRON MAN 2. Alright, so what is SUPER-8? It’s obviously a reference to the Super-8 format from back in the 60s, which is what Abrams used to make his first film… when he was 11. But what is SUPER-8? Well speculation has run rampent for the past 24 hours on what this thing could be. Is it a sequel to Abrams’ last mystery trailer? (which turned out to be CLOVERFIELD in case you missed that.) Could it be this mystery collaboration with Steven Spielberg? Hell… could it involve STAR TREK 2? So many questions with so little answers… but wait!
NY Mag’s Vulture scored some details on SUPER-8. Now it should go without saying that you’re now treading on spoiler territory. This could very well set up lots of talk and viral marketing within the next several months, so if you want to be surprised along the way you might want to skip this next bit!
-SPOILER-According to Vulture, the trailer for SUPER-8 is ‘absolutely connected to CLOVERFIELD!’ Absolutely huh? Can’t argue with that.
