Devon Sawa would do Idle Hands 2 “in a heartbeat”

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

One of my favorite horror-comedies out there is director Rodman Flender's 1999 killer hand flick IDLE HANDS starring Devon Sawa, Seth Green, and Jessica Alba. And today we're hearing from Sawa that if there ever ends up being an IDLE HANDS 2 he would be up to rejoin "in a heartbeat."

Specifically, when asked if he’d be willing to be in the hypothetical sequel, Sawa said:

In a heartbeat. If there was one film that I want to do a sequel to that would be the one. Just because that set was, between Elden [Henson], and Seth Green, and Vivica Fox, [Jessica] Alba, Jack Noseworthy, and all those people, it was like summer camp and it was so much fun.

He then added:

I would love that to happen but unfortunately the first one didn’t… I think it broke even or something like that, but you never know. You never know.

Please, Hollywood, make this happen! Meanwhile, if somehow you are unaware, the first film begins

When slacker teen Anton Tobias (Devon Sawa) has his right hand possessed by a demonic force, he finds that his life gets a lot more interesting. While Anton himself is an amiable guy, his hand proves to be an appendage of death, killing his two best buddies, Pnub (Elden Henson) and Mick (Seth Green), who return to life as wisecracking zombies. In addition to murdering those closest to him, Anton's evil hand significantly hinders his chances with lovely neighbor Molly (Jessica Alba).

Rodman Flender directed IDLE HANDS from a screenplay written by Terri Hughes and Ron Milbauer. Jennifer and Suzanne Todd produced the flick along with Andrew Licht and Jeffrey A. Mueller and the film starred Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Elden Henson, Jessica Alba, and Vivica A. Fox. Columbia unleashed the killer comedy into a theater near you back on April 30, 1999.
