Seven months ago, we heard that Thomas Jane would be starring in director K. Asher Levin’s thriller Dig alongside Harlow Jane, his daughter with ex-wife Patricia Arquette. Now we’ve gotten a big step closer to being able to watch Dig, as Deadline reports that Saban Films has picked up not only the North American distribution rights, but also the French, German, Spanish, and Scandinavian distribution rights. Outside North America, they’ll be releasing the film with their partners at Splendid, Ace Entertainment, Mis.Label, and Key2Media.

Dig was written by Banipal Ablakhad and Benhur Ablakhad, who crafted the following story:

A widowed father (Thomas Jane) is contracted for home demolition, and when he and his daughter (Harlow Jane) arrive at the construction site they are soon taken hostage by a dangerous couple who will stop at nothing to retrieve what lies beneath the property. The father and daughter must work together to outsmart their captors and survive the grueling night.

Emile Hirsch and Liana Liberato play the “dangerous couple”.

Daniel Cummings produced Dig with WLAD’s Rob Goodrich and Jason Armstrong, as well as Buffalo 8 New Mexico’s Robert Dean. Thomas Jane and his Renegade Entertainment partner Courtney Lauren Penn serve as executive producers alongside Film Mode Entertainment’s Clay Epstein; Bondlt Media Capital’s Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylore, and Grady Craig; Jarnell Stokes; David Nagelberg; and Josh Monkrash, Seth Needle, and Conor McAdam of Screen Media.

Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley had this to say about the film:

The father-daughter pairing of Thomas and Harlow Jane is flawless alongside an accomplished actor in Emile Hirsch and up-and-coming star in Liana Liberato. Asher Levin has skillfully created a nail-biting hostage thriller we are excited to share with audiences.”

Dig is the second project Thomas Jane and K. Asher Levin have worked on together. The first was the vampire horror comedy Slayers, which The Avenue will be releasing in the US sometime in 2022.
