Director confirms the unrated Jason Goes to Hell is coming to Blu-ray

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Just yesterday, we caught word – thanks to JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI cast member Vincent Guastaferro – that a new Blu-ray set containing all twelve films in the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise is in the works. A lot of fans noted that the biggest thing missing from the previous twelve film box set was the unrated cut of JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY. The version of the film on the Blu-ray disc was the R-rated theatrical cut, which is lacking some of the best moments. The only way to get the unrated cut, which features some fantastic gore, was to use the digital code.

Some fans decided to ask JASON GOES TO HELL director Adam Marcus if the unrated cut will finally be coming to Blu-ray in this set, and Marcus replied that it will be!

This will be the first true unrated Blu-ray (for JGTH)!!! With new features and awesomeness! It's gonna rock!!!

It still hasn't been revealed which company is putting this box set together, but whoever it is seems to be working to make sure that I'm going to be adding a second F13 Blu-ray set to my collection. Unrated JASON GOES TO HELL and new special features for each movie is how they're going to win me over.

Guastaferro said that the box set will be "released later this summer", so we should be receiving more information on this very soon. We'll let you know when the announcement is made.
