Oh WOLFMAN… You came, you saw… you got beat by VALENTINE’S DAY and PERCY JACKSON. Damn.
Alright I know plenty of you have seen Joe Johnston’s THE WOLFMAN and I know plenty of you have your opinions on the film… But if that opinion happens to be negative let’s cut the thing a little slack, especially considering the mess it went through to finally hit theaters! Month long delays, new directors, tweaked endings… Does the madness never stop?!
I’m sure there’s a lot of you out there wondering about these different endings everyone is going around talking about right? Right. Well Timeout London caught up with Joe Johnston himself and asked about all this ending chatter:
‘There were two versions of the ending [that] involved the fate of the Wolfman. When we went back to shoot the new stuff, we enhanced one, because our suspicion was it was going to be the more dynamic ending. So we shot new stuff for that, the B version, which is now the version in the film. It was two versions of an ending. One was where one character died, and in the other version, the other character died. After our first preview it was clear we wanted the ending to go one way. We extended it, made it more rewarding.’
Alright that cleared things up. Not. So there’s three different endings but really two? Well damn we might as well just wait until the specs on the DVD are announced to figure this whole thing out… To check out the whole article head right over HERE.
