Dismal horror fun

Here’s a potentially fun genre entry that I happened to come across. It’s called DISMAL and the premise sounds like a cross between HATCHET and THE HILLS HAVE EYES and WRONG TURN. Yes, cannibals do really seem to be the recent rage. Well, have taste of the plot synopsis:

What does a girl have to do to pass science class? Stay alive!

Dana can’t afford to fail, so she goes on a field trip with other college students to the Great Dismal Swamp. While Dana and her tasty friends are looking for extra credit, terrifying swamp cannibals are looking for dinner. Eat or be eaten! Horror is served hot and steamy with a side order of sick in DISMAL.

Not bad! You should take a look at the flick’s website here for cast news, a trailer, a gallery, and loads of other goodies. And from the look of DISMAL’s trailer, I’ve gotta say that this one seems to be serving up an ideal horror platter from hot chicks to hellish carnage. Good stuff!

DISMAL is scheduled to be coming our way some time in 2008 from Fearmakers Studios and director Gary King. It stars Lydia Chandler, Tim Morris, Bill Oberst, Jr., Meagan Reedy (below), Jade Arnold, Capel King, and Will Triplett.
