Disney’s Jungle Cruise to now cast off in theaters during Summer 2020

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Those hoping to set sail aboard Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt on October 11, 2019 might find themselves up the river without a paddle, as the House of Mouse has declared that the upcoming family fantasy adventure won't be setting sail until July 24, 2020.

While the move certainly is a disappointment, fans of the wrestler turned box office behemoth still have plenty to look forward to from Hollywood's hottest actor. For instance, Dwayne Johnson is set to star in the biographical comedic drama FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY, which is scheduled for a March 2019 release. Furthermore, the man who can always smell his own cooking has the Fast & Furious spin-off, HOBBS AND SHAW, reving up in theaters on August 2, 2019, as well as a JUMANJI sequel on December 13, 2019, in addion to director Rawson Marchall Thurber's RED NOTICE on target for a June 12, 2020 premiere.

As for Emily Blunt, the EDGE OF TOMORROW and SICARIO alumna will star in Disney's MARRY POPPINS RETURNS, which is expected to float into theaters on December 19th. In the live-action sequel to the 1964 original starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, the mysterious and magical nanny returns decades after her previous visit to help the Banks siblings and Michael's children through a difficult time in their lives.

Johnson shared the news about Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE delay via his personal Twitter account this Friday afternoon:
