We are sad to inform you that actress Elisabeth Sladen passed away yesterday. She died in England at the age of 63 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Sladen is best known as Sarah Jane Smith from the original “DOCTOR WHO” series, its recent reboot, and its spin-off, “THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES.”
Sladen was born in 1946 in Liverpool, where she began here career as an assistant stage manager at the Liverpool playhouse. She eventually made her way onto the stage as an actress, and from there it wasn’t long until she got in front of the camera. A “suitable” tribute is being planned for the late actress on “DOCTOR WHO.”
Sladen is survived by her husband, actor Brian Miller, and daughter, Sadie. Our thoughts go out to her family, friends and fans. May she rest in peace.
