It has been a long road to release for the latest projects in the I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE franchise, but April is going to be a great month for fans. As we reported yesterday, director Meir Zarchi's I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE: DEJA VU, a direct sequel to Zarchi's original film, is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 23rd. Fittingly, that's also the day when the documentary GROWING UP WITH I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE is getting a DVD release.

Directed by Zarchi's son Terry Zarchi, who was a child when he made an appearance in his father's 1978 film, GROWING UP WITH I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE has the following synopsis:

For the ?rst time ever, explore the myths behind the controversial 1978 ?lm I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE with the all new and only feature-length documentary, GROWING UP WITH I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. Five years in the making, Terry Zarchi’s exhaustive analysis of the history of the ?lm, packed with never before seen footage and exclusive interviews, is what every I Spit On Your Grave fan and cinephile has been waiting for!

We can confirm that this has indeed been five years in the making, because we first caught word that Terry Zarchi was making this documentary back in 2014, soon after I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE: DEJA VU was announced. Production on DEJA VU wrapped in November of 2015, so it's great that we're finally going to be seeing both the new sequel and the documentary very soon.

The picture above was taken during the making of the documentary and features Meir Zarchi with I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE and I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE: DEJA VU star Camille Keaton.
