Dollface will slash up victims on DVD and VOD in September

Breaking Glass Pictures and Vicious Circle Films have set writer/director Tommy Faircloth's slasher DOLLFACE for a September 15th release on DVD and VOD.

Starring Debbie Rochon, Jason Vail, Christian James, Leah Wiseman, Kirsten Ray and, as the titular slasher, 6'8" wrestler John Kap, DOLLFACE has the following synopsis:

In 1996, nine college students headed off for a fun weekend at a lake house on Horse Creek.  At the house they uncovered the horrific story of Dorchester Stewart, also known as Crinoline Head, and his dollmaker mother, who once lived in the house. That weekend six students were killed, two survived, and one went missing.

Now, twenty years later, one of the survivors, Paul Donner, is teaching at the college he once attended. When his students discover an old newspaper article about the tragedy, they decide to visit the old lake house to learn more about Crinoline Head. While looking for answers, they discover something much more terrifying.

If the killer and his back story sound familiar to you, it may be because DOLLFACE is in fact a sequel to Faircloth's 1995 film CRINOLINE HEAD. However, given the number of years that have passed since the release of its predecessor, Faircloth crafted the sequel in such a way that it works as a standalone story, viewers don't need to have seen the '95 movie to enjoy this one.

Personally, I have seen CRINOLINE HEAD several times, as the movie had quite an impact on my early teen years after I read about the making of it in a 1997 issue of Fangoria. I was fascinated by the story of the indie slasher's production and bought a copy of it on VHS immediately. CRINOLINE HEAD was such a standout part of my youth that when I found out there was going to be a twenty-years-later sequel, I felt I had to be a part of it in some small way. I contributed to its Indiegogo campaign, and thus have a special thanks in the end credits of the movie.

The distributors will be making DOLLFACE available on the VOD platforms iTunes, Amazon Instant, Xbox, Google Play, Vudu, and Cable Broadcast VOD. The special features for the DVD release include outtakes, extended scenes, and cast auditions.
