It’s no secret that Hollywood are snagging up any semi-classic genre flick from the 80s and remaking it. And by classic I don’t even mean good! I’m talking anything! FRIGHT NIGHT has been one of the most talked about flicks getting the remake treatment… and yet we haven’t heard anything for a while! And now we know why!

The Hollywood Reporter just got word that DreamWorks are set to snag the rights to FRIGHT NIGHT! What does this mean? Well Michael De Luca and Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films are producing and looking to bring us a remake that follows the comedy/horror feel of the original but with modern day effects. The original FRIGHT NIGHT read like one of your classic vampire movies and followed a teenager who discovers that his neighbors are vampires.

No other staff has been announced yet but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as we hear more! If DreamWorks are excited about this one… and the recent success of horror films… they’ll get this thing on the fast track!
