While we patiently await a true sequel to Pete Travis’ DREDD, we’ll have to be content with the “bootleg universe” that producer the film’s producer Adi Shankar has spun off (like the short film “Dirty Laundry” starring Thomas Jane). The latest treat for fans is a limited edition web series called “Superfiend,” which is said to be inspired by the “Dark Judges” comic arc from Judge Dredd. EW has premiered a few exclusive images from “Superfiend,” and you can find them below.

Will this sate the appetite fans have for the character’s return? Maybe for a brief time, but there’s no doubting that a live-action follow-up is what the people really want. (And wouldn’t it be cool to see the Dark Judges storyline play out in a film?)

The series will be released online on October 27th.
