Joel and Sheila Hammond are realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way. Drew Barrymore enters the land of the undead in the first trailer for Netflix's dark comedy, Santa Clarita Diet.
As much as I enjoy Timothy Olyphant, Santa Clarita Diet has two leads who are just not very good at delivering this kind of humor. Comedic timing for a show like this is key and despite what would be considered an R or Mature rating, this show seems pretty tame. Still, I'll give it a shot when it hits next month to see if I'm proven wrong. If you want to get your zombie fix in the meantime, iZombie is a show with a premise that's a little more original and fun.
