Back in August Gillian Anderson (below) was running around talking about the potential for a third X-FILES movie and that she’d be more than happy to sign on. Regardless of what you thought about I WANT TO BELIEVE, I’m assuming if you’re an X-FILES fan you’re happy to hear there’s some life in this puppy Or not… either way Anderson isn’t the only one talking!

Her partner in crime David Duchovny recently chatted it up via The Daily Beast where the subject eventually landed on a third X-FILES film:

“As far as the X-Files movie I’d like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy. I think it’s natural for The X-Files to have another movie in 2012, so we’ll see if we get to do it. I was happy with it… I have nothing but respect for [X-Files creator] Chris Carter and the writing staff.”

Well there you have it! I’m not sure how much stock you can take in this though… Weren’t these two talking about a second X-FILES movie ten years ago? So if history is set to repeat itself we’ll be seeing THE X-FILES 3 in 2018. What do you guys think? Any actual potential for a third X-FILES flick? Would you see it? As always keep it here for any and all X-FILES updates as we hear them!
