Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves title card marks the start of a cinematic campaign

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the title treatment and logo for its upcoming film based on the time-honored tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons. As you can see, the feature’s title is Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which invades theaters on March 23, 2023.

Plot details are being kept in a Bag of Holding at the moment. However, one can expect the film to revolve around some grand quest for enchanted treasure alongside the slaying of dragons, ghouls, and drunken townsfolk whose only purpose is to offer vital information before kicking the bucket.

Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine (Wonder Woman), Michelle Rodriguez (F9: The Fast Saga), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Sophia Lillis (It), Chloe Coleman (My Spy), Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Daisy Head (Fallen), and Hugh Grant (The Gentlemen).

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has a story written by Chris McKay and Michael Gilio, with Jeremy Latcham, Brian Goldner, and Nick Meyer producing. Denis L. Stewart, Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley, Chris Pine, Zev Foreman, and Greg Mooradian executive produce.

While this new iteration of Dungeons & Dragons is shaping up to have some serious potential, we should never forget the abysmal original film from 2000 featuring Justin Whalin and Marlon Wayans. A quality D&D film doesn’t have a very high bar to clear but here’s hoping this new take is closer to Lord of the Rings than In The Name of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.
