Dunstan Talks

If you made it out this past weekend to see SAW IV, you just allowed 5 and 6 to be made. But whatever, I sort of dug it. It wasn’t as developed thematically as the other ones and I had a hard time believing one of the many twists, but whatever.

Why I bring SAW IV up is because B-D has a hilarious and insightful interview with SAW IV and FEAST co-writer Marcus Dunstan. Here is an excerpt from the interview:

MD: FEAST was a crush of extremely lucky breaks. I am so very proud of that movie. We have lifelong friends from the process of fighting to get it made. There are moments of giddy, appalling behavior that I never tire of watching and I feel that a genuine artist, director John Gulager, managed to bring a sordid luster to the fright that elevated the material beyond all expectations. I don’t yet have a child, so these dirty movies are the kids I love. They raised me, and we’ve been fortunate enough to help raise a few of our own.

I guess the short answer is to “how does it feel” is: Humbled, excited, laughing.

The interview is pretty cool and insightful and only makes me wanna meet Dunstan and Melton more than I did when I saw PROJECT GREENLIGHT. He continues to talk about FEAST director John Gulager and what is in store for FEAST 2 and 3, as well as other projects that he’s currently involved with. Anyways, head over here to read the entire thing.
