Dwayne Johnson continues to tease DC movie role with Shazam tweet

Although there hasn't been an official announcement, we do know Dwayne Johnson will be appearing in an upcoming DC movie. The actor's comments earlier this week led many people to believe he will be playing Shazam, since it's also been rumored a Shazam movie will be released in 2016. While this obviously isn't a confirmation Dwayne Johnson will definitely play the character, Johnson did tweet this picture yesterday.

I do think it's interesting the image also features Black Adam, a character some fans think would be perfect for Dwayne Johnson. We should remember though that just because Johnson's recent comments and tweets might hint towards Shazam, Vin Diesel kind of went through the same thing last year after having a meeting with Marvel, and he ended up being cast as the voice of Groot in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, which no one really expected. Maybe all this Shazam stuff is a red herring, and the character Dwayne Johnson will play for DC will come as a huge surprise.

But right now, it does look like Dwayne Johnson might be playing Shazam. Johnson is at SDCC to help promote HERCULES, so maybe he'll also drop by the Warner Bros. and DC panel on Saturday.

Dwayne Johnson's HERCULES opens today.
