With THE GRUDGE (we can never see enough of Sarah Michelle Gellar) slaughtering the Box Office, more doors are being open for Sam Raimi’s production company Ghost House Pictures. announced today that Stephen Susco (screenwriter of THE GRUDGE) will start writing DIBBUK BOX for the production house, based on the short article by L.A. Times writer Leslie Gornstein entitled ‘Jinx In A Box’. Revolving around an antique box possessed by an evil spirit (ordered off of eBay!), the new owner must solve the mysteries which lie within it, or her family will meet their untimely doom. See? You know what you get when buying off of eBay! You think you’re getting a regular old box, then you get one that’s possessed and wants your entire family ! I like the angle of the internet taking a role in the horror, as long as it’s not another FEAR DOT COM (I’m still mad about losing that hour and a half of my life). Seeing as it’s coming from Raimi and Susco, I don’t think that will be a problem.
Stay tuned as we find out more about this project.
