Eddie Murphy, Seth Rogen go for a ride in trailer for new Comedians in Cars

After the wild success of his original sitcom, Jerry Seinfeld could’ve easily left society behind with his millions and lived out his days on his own island, with not but personal servants and flown-in friends to keep him company. But no, the man loves comedy too much and gets to explore that passion more with another round of comedian friends and hot coffee in yet another season of COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE. The new trailer arrived for the new season, teasing appearances from Seth Rogen, Martin Short, Ricky Gervais and Eddie Murphy.

Seinfeld starts the piece by calling out the slew of new people-hanging-out-in-cars-based shows hitting the internet, listing what seems like two dozen shows, to the point where they sound like made-up gags for an SNL spoof. But no — whether they're actual shows like CARPOOL KARAOKE with James Corden and ALEC BALDWIN'S LOVE RIDE (which sounds like an adult video no one asked for) or parody videos like "Cougars in Cars Getting Cosmos" — these are all real things you can find online. But as hard as they may try, none of them can match the simple entertainment and casual perfection of COMEDIANS, so they all best start taking notes.

Then it gets into the guests, and what a lineup he has this time. Some of them have been on in the past (Gervais and Sebastian Maniscalo) but there are plenty of funny people making their first-time trips with Jerry to whatever casual place he will take them to for coffee and pancakes (or a nice tuna on toast). Among the most special of guests is Murphy, who seems to have taken a bit of time away from the spotlight in the past – much like previous guest Dave Chapelle – and looks as funny as ever in his appearance here, where they will go for a beverage at the Improv in Los Angeles.

The other guests will be Bridget Everett, SNL’s Melissa Villaseñor, Matthew Broderick, Martin Short, Jamie Foxx, and Barry Marder. The new season of COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE hits Netflix on July 19.
