Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN 2 hits theaters in just a couple weeks and it seems more people are looking forward to it than not! The film started out as a dreaded and unwanted sequel just a few months ago but it seems Zombie has turned that outlook around. I know he’s changed this genre fan’s mind! But alas one unfortunate thing seems to have come from Zombie’s H2… his long-awaited animated flick THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO has been lost in the shuffle of the H2 madness!
There’s no doubt HALLOWEEN 2 is our main concern… but we’ve been trying to hit you all with SUPERBEASTO updates whenever they pop up. We’ve told you about it’s rating, release date and cover art among other things… but none of that tops today’s update! We’ve finally been treated to a teaser trailer for the direct-to-DVD film!
I’ve thrown the trailer up in our videos section or you can just scroll down below to check it out. So what’s the verdict? I’m thinking EL SUPERBEASTO is going to be just as much fun as we all thought! This looks like Zombie let loose and did something creative with what little free time he has… and it looks like a blast! The comedy looks kind of outrageous… but hilarious at the same time. Granted this is only a 30 second trailer so we can’t get a great feel for how this one will go but it should help you decide if you’ll be checking SUPERBEASTO out or not. I definitely will!
As the trailer states, the film stars the voice talents of Tom Papa, Sheri Moon Zombie, Rosario Dawson, Paul Giamatti and Brian Posehn. It follows the adventures of El Superbeasto, a washed-up Mexican luchador, and his sultry sidekick and sister Suzi-X as they confront an evil villain by the name of Dr. Satan. The adventure, set in the mythic world of Monsterland, also has a character named Murray the robot. THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO hits DVD shelves everywhere on September 22nd!
