Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno pulled from Open Road’s release schedule

Eli Roth's THE GREEN INFERNO was set to hit theaters next month, but that's no longer the case. Deadline is reporting Open World has removed the film from its released schedule. Financier Worldview Entertainment is apparently "balking at ex-CEO Christopher Woodrow’s commitment to provide the P&A (prints and advertising)" for THE GREEN INFERNO.

So what does this mean for Eli Roth's cannibal horror movie? Open Road wouldn't comment on if a later release date will be announced, or if it will go straight to video, but the site has been told Worldview is trying to work something out with Open Road and THE GREEN INFERNO. If they can't figure things out, someone else may end up distributing THE GREEN INFERNO.

Reviews have been solid for THE GREEN INFERNO (77% at Rotten Tomatoes), and Deadline has been told the quality of Eli Roth's new movie has nothing to do with it being pulled from its release date.

I really didn't care for Roth's HOSTEL movies, however I loved CABIN FEVER (PANCAKES!), and was actually pretty excited to check out THE GREEN INFERNO. Hopefully Roth's new movie will still get a wide theatrical release, but we're going to have to wait and see what will happen with THE GREEN INFERNO.

Besides dealing with this mess, Eli Roth is also busy filming for his next movie, the psychological thriller KNOCK KNOCK starring Keanu Reeves.
