Elijah: Alexandre Aja directs horror film for Searchlight and David S. Goyer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Genre filmmaker Alexandre Aja has given us some great horror movies over the last twenty years, and he has just lined up his next horror project. Aja will be directing a film titled ELIJAH for Searchlight Pictures and producers David S. Goyer, Keith Levine, and Adam Goldworm. Searchlight's DanTram Nguyen is overseeing the project with Apolline Berty.

Written by Cory Goodman (with a rewrite from Aja's frequent collaborator Gregory Levasseur), ELIJAH will center on

a young boy who invites a mysterious man into his home, believing the stranger to be the key to saving his sick mother. As increasingly disturbing things start to happen around his home, the boy soon realizes that the sinister stranger is not the savior he claims to be.

Aja's previous directorial credits include HIGH TENSION, the remakes THE HILLS HAVE EYES and MIRRORS, PIRANHA 3D, HORNS, THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX, and CRAWL. I highly recommend most of those, and Quentin Tarantino even named CRAWL (watch it HERE) as one of his favorite films of 2019.

I'll watch anything Aja makes, so I'm already looking forward to ELIJAH.
