Elizabeth Mitchell, perhaps best remembered for playing Juliet in “Lost” has reunited with that show’s executive producer, J.J. Abrams, on his latest “Twilight Zone” inspired series, “Revolution.” The show premieres this fall on NBC.
In the series, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever.
Mitchell will play Rachel Matheson, mother of Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and Danny (Graham Rogers), who is described as a beautiful and warm parent who’s terrified of the ordeal that her children will face as they navigate the dystopian world.
Apparently, Mitchell will appear via flashbacks. She replaces Andrea Roth, who was cast in the pilot.
Mitchell joins Daniella Alonso, Billy Burke, Tim Guinee, Zak Orth, Tracy Spiridakos, Graham Rodgers, Giancarlo Esposito and Anna Lise Phillips in the show, the first episode of which was directed by Jon Favreau.
