Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding to star in Paul Feig’s Last Christmas

"There’s a very good reason why the holiday season is a wonderful time for a boy and girl to fall in love. ‘Cause Santa and Cupid planned exactly what you did when you kissed me by the mistletoe above."

Aretha Franklin – Kissin' by the Mistletoe

Emilia Clarke, also known to many as Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons, has been cast opposite CRAZY RICH ASIANS star Henry Golding for Universal's upcoming holiday romance feature titled LAST CHRISTMAS. The film hails from GHOSTBUSTERS and BRIDESMAIDS filmmaker Paul Feig, who has been set to direct from a screenplay penned by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings. Details surrounding the film are scarce at this time, though it has been confirmed that the holly jolly feature will take place in a London setting.

In addition to his role as the film's director, Feig will also produce via his Feigco Entertainment banner, alongside Jessie Henderson and David Livingstone. Of course, we all know Ms. Clarke from her key role on HBO's GAME OF THRONES as Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, but what about Henry Golding? Well, aside from playing the part of Nick Young for director Jon M. Chu's CRAZY RICH ASIANS, Golding has also recently appeared in the Feig-directed crime drama A SIMPLE FAVOUR as a character named Sean Townsend. Before pairing with Feig once again for LAST CHRISTMAS, you can catch Golding as the lead in Hong Khaou's MONSOON, which tells the story of a British Vietnamese man named Kit (Golding), who returns to Saigon for the first time in over 30 years, after fleeing during the Vietnam-American War. MONSOON has recently entered its post-production phase, so be on the lookout for an official release date soon.

We'll be sure to bring you more details related to LAST CHRISTMAS once they are made available. In the meantime, be sure to check out Emilia Clarke when the final season of HBO's GAME OF THRONES arrives in 2019.
