Spider-Man

If you aren't that familiar with the Spider-Man comics these new images of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy probably don't seem too spoilerish. But if you have read a certain Spidey comic from 1971 then these pictures could be a huge spoiler. Or director Marc Webb is knowingly messing with fanboys. I'm not sure which it is but either way this could be a huge spoiler for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. You have been warned.

So these new images are courtesy of Daily Bugle Spidey and in them you can clearly see that Emma Stone is wearing almost the exact clothing that Gwen Stacy wore from the story arc "The Night Gwen Stacy Die". In another image you can also see one of the spots that they are currently filming THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: the Manhattan Bridge, which is of course where Stacy died during a battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin.

We knew there would be a chance that the Green Goblin would make an appearance since Chris Cooper is playing Norman Osborn and it was also assumed that Stacy might be meeting her end soon when Shailene Woodley was cast as Mary Jane Watson, but I'm not sure if many of us thought she would be killed off in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. However, just because Emma Stone is wearing the same iconic outfit doesn't necessarily mean Gwen Stacy is going to die in this film and like I said: maybe Marc Webb is messing with us a little bit. Maybe he just wanted to put her in the famous outfit just as a tease. Or maybe it's just because Emma Stone looks hot as hell in knee highs. Only time will tell.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is currently filming and will be released on May 2nd, 2014.
