I came across a new project today that happened to catch my eye. It was announced over at Variety and goes by THE FIELD.
Hmm. Alright. THE FIELD is described as a thriller that’s set in an endless field where a group of strangers wake up with seemingly random items and must find a way out. It’s penned by the duo of Sean Wathen and Josh Dobkin and was picked up by Stone Village, which are producing and financing. Benderspink will be executive producing.
That’s all we’ve got. That’s all the info we’re given on THE FIELD and my interest is peaked! Don’t get me wrong… this doesn’t sound like something great. Hell it’s basically CUBE in a field. But for some reason this flick sounds like it might turn out to be a load of fun. Imagine scoring some nice character cast, get a decent director behind it, throw in some stuff we don’t expect and they might have something here!
Hopefully THE FIELD turns out to be as violent and twisted as it sounds in my head. Keep it here for any updates as we hear them.
