Eternals set photos reveal a first look at Gemma Chan’s Sersi and more!

With Marvel's ETERNALS now in production, you can bet that a swarm of invasive paparazzo and those looking to legitimately capture the action on camera have assembled to snap first looks at one of the studio's newest film-related projects. Today's pics (courtesy of the Secrets of the Eternals Twitter account) feature a behind-the-scenes look at Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi for Marvel's bold, new cinematic venture. In looking at the photos, we can see that the scene takes place in present day, with Sersi sporting forest green coat, a navy blue toque, and a black sweater complete with a green triangle pattern. Meanwhile, the second set of photos gives us a look at the film's Tomb of the Gods set. Looking like they've been built by the Celestials themselves, the structures are ultra-colorful and look as if they'd jumped straight out a series of pages designed by Eternals creator Jack Kirby.

You can check out both sets of photos below:

Based on the 1976 comic book series created by Jack Kirby, The Eternals are often described as an offshoot of the transformative process that created sentient life on Earth. As the story goes, The Eternals were intended to be defenders of Earth by their creators, The Celestials. In time, an opposing force known as the Deviants were introduced as a way to secure the destruction of the goodly-natured beings. Marvel has hired Chloe Zhao (THE RIDER, SONGS MY BROTHER TAUGHT ME) to direct the tentpole superhero venture from a screenplay penned by RUIN scribes Matthew and Ryan Firpo.

For the past several months, Marvel has been busy assembling a star-studded cast for ETERNALS, which is now set to be led by Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie and GAME OF THRONES alum Richard Madden, as Thena and Ikaris, respectively. Also set to join the cast are Lauren Ridloff (WONDERSTRUCK) as Makkari; Kumail Nanjiani (THE BIG SICK, MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL) as Kingo; Brian Tyree Henry (CHILD'S PLAY, JOKER) as Phastos; Salma Hayek (FRIDA, THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD) as Ajak; Don Lee (TRAIN TO BUSAN) as Gilgamesh; Lia McHugh (AMERICAN WOMAN) as Sprite; Gemma Chan (EX MACHINA, CAPTAIN MARVEL) as Sersi; Barry Keoghan (THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER) as Druig and Kit Harrington (GAME OF THRONES, SILENT HILL: REVELATION)as Dane Whitmane aka Black Knight.

Marvel's ETERNALS is poised to superhero-land in theaters on November 6, 2020.
