Variety announced a new indie horror flick this morning that sounds too cool for school, and a buttload of fun to boot. It’s called EVE, and it sounds like it could be a blast and a half.
Produced by Ratio Pictures and written / directed by Karoline Kautz, the flick goes a little something like this: [a chick named Eve] tracks down and kills supernatural killers. Now how can you go wrong with that? It sounds almost like a cross between the comic HACK / SLASH (which is also becoming a movie soon), and Showtime’s DEXTER, about a Miami blood forensices cop who also hunts down and kills deserving serial killers.
The potential for awesomeness is there, and the overall premise works. But, we are talking about a low budget indie flick and not something with a mondo Hollywood backing… which may or may not work to its advantage.
EVE is scheduled to star Elaine Hendrix (pictured) and Jordan Matthews, and is anticipated to start lensing in 2010 (damn!!!). Stay tuned for more info on EVE, but probably not for awhile now, as we hear it!
