As the march of gay equality marches on, we here at JoBlo.com are taking a look WAY back at the days when the terms ‘gay’ and ‘queer’ had a far different meaning in older movies, ranging from the Roaring ’20s to the Swinging ’70s. It’s always interesting to see how different words or phrases may change meaning and/or usage over time and this is certainly no exception. If nothing else it’s a compelling look into the past as we charge into the future. I’m sure our own kids will look back at some of the terms we commonly use today with equal parts disgust, humor, and disbelief. How times change, eh?

Have a gay ol’ time!:
