The idea of immortality and the conflict it represents is a theme in literature and art dating back to the dawn of man. Since the invention of movies, immortality has played a role in stories that have had a lasting impact on audiences. This week marks the release of a new film about the subject, THE AGE OF ADALINE starring Blake Lively and Harrison Ford.

In honor of the film, we have gone back and looked at immortality in film and tallied our top ten characters who cannot die. Whether they be from romance, horror, science fiction, or beyond, these are our favorite characters who have the gift (or curse?) to live forever.
