Exclusive Featurette: Radcliffe and McAvoy open up Victor Frankenstein

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Wouldn't you like to spend Thanksgiving with Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy? Well, you can! Okay, it's only by going to see VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN after you're properly stuffed with turkey, gravy, potatoes, and pumpkin pie, but it's still technically hanging with the two charismatic fellows. And that's what's on display here in this exclusive featurette, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at Radcliffe and McAvoy working on director Paul McGuigan's sci-fi/horror pic, enjoying the process every step of the way. I can't imagine there was such a thing as a boring day on set with those two around.

It's alive!:

Here's the synopsis:

Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences.  Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation.

I think Radcliffe and McAvoy teaming up in a mash-up buddy genre pic has real potential to be a lot of fun. The trailers so far have made me think of it as LETHAL WEAPON: SHERLOCK VICTOR HOLMES FRANKENSTEIN, which is certainly an enticing premise if you're looking for a new take on the Frankenstein tale. And, really, I think we can wait a while before we get another classic retelling of Mary Shelley's novel, so they may as well have some fun with it. If anything, Radcliffe and McAvoy's chemistry could be enough to bring this one to life.

VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN opens on November 25th, 2015.
