Lenny Abrahamson follows up his award-winning films Adam & Paul, Garage and What Richard Did with an offbeat comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Domhnall Gleeson), who finds himself out of his depth when he joins an avant-garde pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Michael Fassbender), a musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head, and his terrifying bandmate Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

I spoke to Mr. Abrahamson and Ms. Gyllenhaal about their very unusual film recently, which the latter actually turned down after being offered it. You’ll find out why she initially turned it down (and why she ultimately changed her mind), which films Abrahamson found inspiration in, and the atmosphere – and absence of cleanliness – on set.

If you missed our interview with FRANK stars Michael Fassbender and Domhnall Gleeson, head right over HERE.
