Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In THE FOREST, Natalie Dormer stars as a young American woman who journeys to the legendary Aokigahara Forest of Japan in search of her twin sister (also portrayed by Dormer), who has mysteriously disappeared. Known as "the suicide forest", Aokigahara is a place where some people go to die. And, naturally, there are legends that it still acts as a home for the spirits of the dead.

The film opens this Friday, January 8th, and in anticipation of the first big horror release of 2016, we have a couple of interviews with the stars of the THE FOREST: Natalie Dormer and Taylor Kinney.

Dormer is, of course, very well known now for her turns in Game of Thrones and THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY, and appears to be on a path to true international stardom. We spoke about taking the lead in THE FOREST, whether or not she's a fan of horror movies, visiting the real Aokigahara and how her life has changed as her profile has risen.

Taylor Kinney plays Aiden, an American expat in Japan who assists Sara on her quest to find her sister. Whether or not Aiden is friend or foe you'll have to find out for yourself, but Kinney's performance keeps you on the edge for much of the film's running time. In the below interview we talk about scary movies, his ambiguous character and shooting the film in Serbia.

THE FOREST opens January 8th.
