With ROBOCOP hitting theaters this week, we decided to take a look back at some of our other favorite movie robots, counting down our top 10 faves. There’s a lot of cool ‘bots out there, so it was no easy task, especially when you start getting into android and cyborg territory, but ultimately we boiled it down to some old-school and new-school favorites, including CGI, actors, and real working robots in both film and television.
Robots have long been a staple of cinema and continue to be a mainstay, representing all the different era’s and progressing in design and function as our own technology progresses. We’ll be getting even more droids in the coming years, particularly with Paul Bettany’s Vision in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and likely a long list of new ‘bots in J.J. Abrams’ STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.
